Dear Ollie & Co. is home to our flagship line of goods, Dear Ollie, as well as stationery and gifts
THE CREW
Sara
Sara opened Dear Ollie & Co. in 2022 inside A Novel Concept after eight years of growing her line of illustrated goods, Dear Ollie, through online sales and pop-up markets. What started as a collection of playful critter-filled designs, puns, and vibrant color palettes has grown into a curated space showcasing the work of over 100 independent artists, makers, and designers.
But Sara’s work doesn’t stop at the shop! 🎨 She is also a muralist, creating large-scale artwork for commercial and residential spaces, and short-term rentals like Airbnbs. She loves bringing creativity to unexpected places and working with clients to bring their visions to life.
When Sara’s not knee-deep in a creative project, she can usually be found on a hike, engaging in some herbal recreation, or sneaking another scary movie into her nightly line-up. She’s a pro at bringing outside things inside (hello, rock collections), reading weird fiction, and snacking like it’s a competitive sport. Basically, if it’s weird, spooky, or involves candy, Sara’s all in.
Emily
Emily came on-board to Dear Ollie & Co in September of 2023. She has been a long-time lover of stationery ever since she was introduced to Hello Kitty-themed notepads and Gelly Roll Metallic pens in second grade (IYKYK).
These days, she prefers fountain pens and has amassed a small hoard of fun and interesting ones from around the world. Collecting pens has brought her many friendships with people from all over and she has even traveled to Japan in the name of stationery!
Emily likes to use her pens to journal and she maintains about three different kinds at any given moment. She finds the tactile act of writing to be very soothing and magical. She also has a few pen pals that she writes to regularly; snail mail peeps unite!
Most recently she has attended pen/stationery shows in San Francisco, Washington DC, and NYC and happily brings her knowledge and experience to our shop.
And if you were wondering (bc why wouldn't you be?), these are her favorite pasta shapes: long = bucatini, wide=papardelle, short=gnocchi 🍝
Ollie
A legacy member of our crew, always; Dear Ollie was named after one of our dear pups, Oliver.
It's only appropriate that a line featuring mainly imagery of weird animals be named after one. He was a huge jerk, but also the snuggliest boy ever.
While he is no longer with us, we love keeping his spirit with us in all we do. ♥ Snarky, sassy, badass, and full of love.
